National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language, Delhi organises its maiden Mushaira, beginnig made from Bhopal at initiative of Chandrabhan Khayal
Bhopal, November 14, 2010 (Ataullah Faizan) : The National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), New Delhi organised its first Mushaira under the aegis of Madhya Pradesh Urdu Akademi here on Friday. A book release function preceded the Mushaira at 9 pm at Mulla Ramoozi Sanskriti Bhawan. The theme of the mushaira was national integration.
Chief guest and former MP Kailash Narayan Sarang, noted poet Malikazada Manzoor and Akademi deputy chairman Mirza Jafar Beg lighted ‘shama-e-mushaira’ to declare the function open, which was presided over by NCPUL vice chairman and noted Urdu litterateur Chandrabhan Khayal. Other guests of honour include former Akademi chairman Aziz Qureshi, divisional commissioner Manoj Shrivastava and noted poet Bekal Utsahi.
Speaking on the occasion, Chandrabhan Khayal said that NCPUL did not have the practice of holding mushairas and this is for the first time the organization was holding a mushaira. The process has been started on his initiative from Bhopal. Former MP Kailash Sarang congratulated NCPUL for this initiative.
The function began with release of books published by Madhya Pradesh Urdu Akademi by Chandrabhan Khayal, Kailash Narayan Sarang, Aziz Qureshi, Jafar Beg and MP Urdu Akademi Secretary Ms Nusrat Mehdi. These books have been written by Ishrat Qadri, Muslim Saleem, Dr Noman Khan, Zaheer Parvez, Nawab Shamsher Bahadur and Badr Wasti. A course book “Intekhab-e-Sukhan” and the latest edition of Akademi magazine
“Tamseel” were also released on the occasion.
Later, an All-India Mushaira on the these of national integration was held which was participated by Malikzada Manzoor, Chandrabhan Khayal, Ashok Sahil, Anita Shrivastava, Javed Arshi, Akhtar Gwaliori, Farooq Engineer, Naeem Rashid, Sheikh Nizami, Shafeeq Abidi, Rahbar Jaunpuri, Ahad Parkash, Manzar Bhopali, Dr Yunus Farhat, Dr Anjum Barabankavi, Zafar Sehbai, Mrs Nusrat Medhi and Dr Meena Naqvi.
